The Primate Of The Romanian Orthodox Church Was Awarded The Title Of “Citizen Of Honour Of Caransebeş City”

On 12 September, the ceremony for awarding the title of “citizen of honour to Caransebeş city” to His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel took place in the festivity room of “1 December 1918” of the City Hall of Caransebeş – informs Trinitas TV channel.

After the festivity, His Beatitude thanked the local authorities and all those present for the distinction awarded: “This is a moment that passes beyond protocol, namely a return to the native homeland, in an area in which the history of faith and history of culture were linked together harmoniously. We express our gratitude for your gesture as well as for the fact that you wished to confirm this relationship that we have with Banat, in general, and with Caransebeş, in particular now, through the consecration of the new Cathedral.”

Several hierarchs of the Romanian Orthodox Church participated in the ceremony.

“Having taken into account the great personality of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel the administrative institution of the city, the City Hall of Caransebeş city, awarded him the title of “citizen of honour” of Caransebeş city as thanksgiving for the honour that the visit of His Beatitude made us”, said His Grace Lucian, Bishop of Caransebeş.
