The Patriarch of Romania Will Pay a Canonical Visit to the Romanian Orthodox Church of Maramures and Satmar

THE PRESS OFFICE OF THE ROMANIAN PATRIARCHATE informs us:

From 29 June – 1 July, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel will pay a canonical visit to the Romanian Orthodox Diocese of Maramures and Satmar at the invitation of His Eminence Honourable Archbishop Justinian.

Friday, 29 June 2012, 20.00 hours, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel will be officially received at Barsana Monastery.

Saturday, 30 June 2012, 9.00 hours, the Patriarch of Romania will celebrate the consecration service of the new church dedicated to the 12 Apostles of Barsana Monastery. Further on, His Beatitude will celebrate the Divine Liturgy at the summer altar of Barsana Monastery assisted by a group of hierarchs, priests and deacons.

In the afternoon he will visit the Memorial of the Victims of Communism, the Orthodox Deanery and the Ukrainian Church seated in Sighetul Marmatiei. At 19.00 hours, he will visit the monastery with Saint Michael and Gabriel as Saint Patrons in Sapanta-Peri, and at 19.45 he will celebrate a blessing service of the new seat of the chapel of the Orthodox Deanery of Negresti-Oas.

Sunday, 1 July 2012, 9.00 hours, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel will consecrate the cathedral of All Saints’ Sunday in Negresti-Oas city and will celebrate the Divine Liturgy on a podium specially arranged near the new Cathedral, assisted by a group of hierarchs, priests and deacons. After the Divine Liturgy, the ceremony award of the title of citizen of honour of Negresti-Oas to His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel will take place.

At 18.00 hours, the Patriarch of Romania will be received at the cathedral dedicated to the Falling Asleep of the Mother of God of Satu Mare city. On this occasion the festivity award of the title of citizen of honour of Satu Mare city to His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel will take place.
