The first Divine Liturgy at St. Paisios Church in Jermana – Damascus

First Orthodox Church in the name of St. Paisios consecrated and opened in Damascus by
His Beatitude John X of Antioch and All East.
His Beatitude John X presided over the first divine liturgy supported by their
eminences :
– Bishop Mousa Alkhoury
– Bishop Luke Alkhoury
– Bishop Nicolas Bealbacky
– Bishop Ephraim Maalouly
with some priests deacons, and a crowd of the faithful.
During the divine liturgy deacon Basilios Mousa was ordained priest.And brother Romanos Baghdan, became a deacon by means of handlaying of His Beatitude John X. In his spiritual sermon delivered on the occasion prayed for long life to the new priest and deacon Basilius and Romanos.
He also blessed the parish on the occasion of the new church, praying to St. Paisios to protect the parish, the church, and beloved Syria.
