The church of Saint Daniel the Prophet of Jibou Consecrated by the Patriarch of Romania

On Sunday, 15 September 2013, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of Romania, consecrated the church of “Saint Daniel the Prophet” of Jibou. His Eminence Andrei, Metropolitan of Cluj, Maramures and Salaj, and His Grace Petroniu, Bishop of Salaj, were also present. They were assisted by a group of priests and deacons.

Many of the faithful present had the joy to pray the holy relics of Saint Hierarch Nectarie from Eghina, Healer of diseases, brought from the Patriarchal Cathedral of Bucharest. They will be also allowed to enter the church altar to kiss the Holy Gospel, Holy Cross and Holy Table. The relics of Saint Hierarch Nectarie from Eghina will remain here to be venerated till 16 September 2013, 16.00 hours.

To end with the consecration service, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel spoke about the joy to be founders of churches: “We pray God to deify and improve our life just as this beautiful church was consecrated today.

We also pray Jesus Christ, our Saviour, Protector of all churches no matter their dedication day, to give us the joy to be church founders, given the fact that God rewards the material gifts offered to the Church with eternal spiritual gifts: forgiveness of sins, happiness as peace of the soul and joy of the heart as well as the foretaste of the eternal life given through the Holy Sacraments”.

Then, the Patriarch of Romania celebrated the Divine Liturgy assisted by a group of hierarchs, priests and deacons.
