Te Deum at the Patriarchal Cathedral

On 15 February 2011, His Grace Andrei Făgărăşanul, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Sibiu, celebrated the Te Deum service, in the Patriarchal Cathedral of Bucharest, assisted by a group of priests and deacons, on the occasion of the beginning of the working session of the Church National Assembly, in the presence of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, of the members of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church and of the members of the Church National Assembly and of the Standing Meeting of the Church National Council.

Further on, the annual working session of the Church National Assembly of the Romanian Orthodox Church will be held in “Patriarch Teoctist” Aula Magna of the Patriarchal Palace, in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.

The central deliberative body of the Romanian Orthodox Church for administrative, social, cultural, economical and patrimonial issues, made up of the members of the Holy Synod and three representatives (one clergyman and two laymen) of every eparchy, the Church National Assembly will examine the annual General Report of the Church National Council concerning the activity of the Romanian Orthodox Church in 2010 and will take decisions for the good development of the church life in 2011.
