St. Gregory the Theologian’s Charity Foundation launches its Website

The St. Gregory the Theologian Charity Foundation has launched its website at http://fondgb.ru.

It gives information about the founders and leaders of the Foundation, its everyday work and the projects it carries out.

The St. Gregory Foundation was founded in August 2010 with the participation of Archbishop (now Metropolitan) Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external church relations. Among its primary tasks is to carry out educational projects, to help develop religious education and church scholarship by organizing the work of the Church’s post-graduate and doctoral school and to support the work of the Russian Orthodox Church’s educational institutions.

The Foundation plans to realize large-scale projects for preserving the cultural, historical and religious heritage of the country. Among the already completed projects are the exhibition of icons in Bratislava, concerts of church music in Moscow, Istanbul and Alexandria, the Country of Resurrection music festival and the Triumphal Ringing of Bells concert organized in Moscow on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the Great Victory.

It is also planned to help organize the Zabelin prize awarding ceremonies at the State Museum of History. The Foundation will also arrange concerts and photo exhibitions in Damascus and Jerusalem, an exhibition in Buenos Aires and other cultural events.

The Foundation’s executive director is L. M. Sevastyanov, and his deputies are O. S. Sheludchenko and I. V. Lapshin.
