Spring and Mother’s Love in “Saint Movses Khorenatsi” Primary School

Armenian Orthodox Church in Georgia – April 2015

On April 1, 2015 “Spring and Mother’s Love” event organized by “Saint Movses Khorenatsi” Primary School was held in Calouste Gulbenkian Hall of the Hayartun Center. It was attended by the Fathers of the Church, Hayartun Center employees, parents and other guests. Mrs. Eleonora Vardanyan, the wife the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of RA to Georgia, was a special guest.

The director of the Educational Department of the Center and “Saint Movses Khorenatsi” Primary School director, Eugenia Markosyan, congratulated everyone on the Easter and wished spring mood and joy of awakening. She also congratulated all women present on the occasion of Women’s Month.

The hall was thematically decorated with green grass and colorful flowers pushing through the snow. Children were like flowers on a stage resembling a field in spring. They congratulated their mothers, grandmothers and all women by their recitation, joyful songs, and beautiful dance and enunciated the coming of spring.

Today’s performances are the evidence of the educational works conducted in the Hayartun Center – the cornerstone of raising true human and citizen”, noted the director of Press and Media Department, Susanna Khachatryan. The director of the Hayartun Center, Levon Chidilyan, evaluated the efforts of the primary school teachers to give children Armenian education. He thanked parents for preserving Armenian language and encouraged them to take their children to Armenian school.

Mrs. Eleonora Vardanyan enjoyed the performances. She distributed Easter presents to children of the Primary School. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan and poet and translator Givi Shahnazar joined the event.

Rev. Fr. of Tbilisi St. Gevorg Vicarial Church, Ter-Narek Ghushchyan highly appreciated the commitment of the primary school teachers to their goal. They teach not only literacy, song and dance but also teach good behavior, help them to discover a love for the Armenian Church, the motherland and Georgia.

This event created an atmosphere of spring and love and brought good mood.
