Serbian Orthodox Bishop Nikanor of Banat Rejects Pope’s Easter Offer

Serbia: Not long ago, pope Francis said that all Christians should celebrate Easter on the same day.
His Grace Nikanor – Bishop of Banat ( Serbian Orthodox Patriarchate) said that “When he (Pope) repents for everything what his predecessors have done and for producing schism in the Church, then we shall talk. What Roman Catholic Church has done, heavens and earth cannot forgive.”
Bishop Nikanor also said that we must not let pope impose his version of Easter.

P.S. Perhaps Bishop Nikanor needs to lead the way in repenting for the Serbian Orthodox communion’s virulent nationalism – “Serbianism” – which in my several years of experiencing the life of your average Serbian parish is little more than a vehicle for the promotion of Serbian culture, dancing, tribalism and triumphalism.
What is interesting about the post by Gio is that he is obviously a Roman Catholic who quite easily ignores and forgives the crimes of some 970 Croatian Catholic priests who personally murdered thousands of Serbs, Jews and Roma Gypsies during WWII then fled through the “Vatican Ratline” for Argentina where they escaped justice and lived quite comfortably for the remainder of their lives on the spoils of the war crimes they committed against 1.4 million Serbs, 60,000 Jews and 70,000 Roma…I think that totals more than 77 times their sins against humanity and the bible….his last sentence exposes his real talent at manipulating the emotions of prejudice, bigotry and racism….
