Head of the Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill is leading the ceremonies of consecration of the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Mother of God and the Royal Martyrs, in London.
The Divine Liturgy, which includes the sanctification of the bells and frescoes on the outer wall of the cathedral, is the key event in Patriarch Kirill’s three-day visit to the UK. The Patriarch’s visit marks the 300th anniversary of the Russian Orthodox Church’s presence on the British Isles.
