Resolution by the Holy Synod of Indian Malankara Orthodox Church on the kidnapped bishops in Syria

India/Kerala/Kottayam: The Holy Synod of the Indian Malankara Orthodox Church passed a resolution expressing high concerns over the fate of kidnapped bishops Metropolitan Mar Gregorios Yohanna Ibrahim and Metropolitan Boulous Yazigi in Syria.
The Synod urged United Nations and WCC to intervene in the situation to free the Bishops.
The Synod also expressed its anxiety over the sad plight of Christians in Syria and Egypt. The resolution was presented by Metropolitan Severious Mathews (Synod Secretary).
The session was Chaired by His Holiness Baselious Marthoma Paulose II – Catholicos of the East on the Apostolic Throne of St Thomas and Metroploitan of Malankara who is also the Primate of the Indian Malankara Orthodox Church.
The Synod offered special prayers for the release and safety of the kidnapped bishop and for the protection of suffering Christians worldwide.
