Press Release of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral

Church of Serbia – 22/10/2020

Today’s X-ray of Metropolitan’s lungs showed a reduction of lung inflammation, allowing us to state that Metropolitan Amfilohije’s health condition has once again slightly improved compared to yesterday– the Clinical Center of Montenegro reported.

Metropolitan Amfilohije’s recovery may seem to be proceeding slowly, but to the satisfaction of the medical team, it is happening on a regular basis, especially taking into account the specificity of the disease and the patient’s age. Throughout the Metropolitan’s hospitalization all vital parameters, as well as oxygen saturation, have been absolutely good. From the beginning of treatment until today, the Metropolitan has not been put on invasive artificial respiration at any time, which means that there has been no need for respiratory support by means of invasive mechanical ventilation, but he is exclusively using non-invasive breathing support with high oxygen flow – NIV.

Metropolitan Amfilohije is still under the constant medical supervision of a team of doctors which has been conducting the complete therapeutic procedure since October 6, when the Metropolitan was hospitalized for the coronavirus-induced disease. Once again we remind the entire public that only through the website of the Metropolitanate, accurate and credible information can be obtained about all the details of recovery of His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije.
