The Ecumenical Patriarchate Enters into Communion with UOC-KP and UAOC
Istanbul-Turkey: On 3rd November 2018, President Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew signed the Agreement “On Cooperation and Interaction between Ukraine and the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople”.
The Ecumenical Patriarchate Enters into Communion with UOC-KP and UAOC
The agreement is signed as a mutual cooperation between the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the State of Ukraine, underlying the fact that an independent Orthodox Church will be constituted for Ukraine. The Ecumenical Patriarch will provide the Tomos, which will recognize the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church and the Tomos will be handed over to the Primate elected by the National Unification Council.
