President Ilham Aliyev congratulates Orthodox Christians in Azerbaijan
The message of congratulations says:
“Dear compatriots! I congratulate you on the sacred Easter, extend my best wishes to you. Throughout the centuries mutual respect, confidence and fraternal relations have existed among different nations and religions in the Azerbaijani society, where high moral values and traditions of ethnic-religious tolerance have been preserved. We estimate it as a great success of our national statehood, regard the protection of the historical-moral heritage and ethic-cultural diversity, promotion of the public relations based on the multicultural traditions as the major directions of our activity.
Christian community has a special place in our multinational and multiconfessional society. I want to note with great pleasure that irrespective of language, religion, ethnic affiliation, Orthodox Christians enjoy their rights and freedoms and demonstrate position of active citizenship in the ongoing great development and renovation process in our country.
