Preparations Underway for Aram I’s Pontifical Visit

LA CRESCENTA—Western Prelate Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, along with the Western Prelacy Religious and Executive Councils announced the revised dates and tentative schedule for the Pontifical visit of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia.
The Pontifical visit will begin on Thursday, October 6 and conclude on October 23.
The committees established by the Prelate and Councils have already begun their planning and have prepared a partial schedule of the Pontifical visit.
The official welcome of His Holiness will take place on the evening of Thursday, October 6 at St. Garabed Church in Hollywood.
On Sunday, October 16, His Holiness will celebrate Divine Liturgy at St. Mary’s Church in Glendale. The Pontifical Banquet will be held on the evening of the 16th.
His Holiness will visit the parish communities of Montebello, San Francisco, Fresno, and Las Vegas. He will celebrate with our communities the 90th anniversary of Holy Cross Cathedral, the 45th anniversary of St. Gregory Church, and will consecrate the dome cross of St. Garabed Church of Las Vegas.
Two of the main focuses of the Pontifical visit are boosting support for Prelacy schools and celebrating the Year of the Armenian child. A series of lectures as well as visits with dignitaries and public officials are also foreseen.
