Patriarch Kirill to Receive Honorary Doctorate at Kyiv Theological Academy During Visit to Ukraine
On July 28, the meeting of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill with bishops, clergy, monks, teachers of the Kyiv Theological Schools will be held on the premises of the Refectory Church of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Apart from the episcopate of the UOC present at the meeting will be the hierarchs of the ROC from the Patriarch’s delegation.
The representatives of the Ukrainian intellectual community will make a special category at the event (some 20 persons are to be invited), including twriter Borys Oliynyk, historian, public and political leader, academician of the NAS of Ukraine Petro Tolochko, director of the Book Chamber of Ukriane Nikolai Senchenko, director general of the Kyiv-Pechersk Historical Cultural Reserve Sergey Krolevets, president of the Association of the Book-publishers and Book-sellers Alexander Afonin etc.
At the meeting the most topical issues of the life of the Church and society will be discussed: the event is intended to be held in the “question-answer” format and will continue two hours.
The focal point of the event will be the bestowal of the honorary doctoral degree of the Kyiv Theological Academy to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
