Patriarch Kirill consecrates church in Yekaterinburg

Russian Orthodox Patriarch Kirill has consecrated a church in the Siberian city of Yekaterinburg, which saw the shooting of the Romanov family by Soviet authorities in 1918. Speaking at a ceremony earlier on Sunday, Kirill specifically warned against repeating political blunders of the past, not least the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution, which he said stemmed from Russian people moving to abnegate faith at the time. We all should live and work in the name of our Motherland’s prosperity , Kirill underlined.
