Patriarch John X Yazigi: Participation in presidential elections duty and right of all

Damascus, (SANA) – Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All East John X Yazigi called upon all the Syrians to participate in the presidential elections, being a turning point in Syria’s history.
In a statement to al-Ikhbariya TV Channel, Patriarch Yazigi pointed out that participating in the presidential elections is a duty and right of all the Syrians, “because we, as Syrian citizens, should build our country constantly.”
“I address all the Syrians, Christians and Muslims, and ask them to participate in the elections despite the difficult conditions the country is going through,” the patriarch said, wishing that the elections may bring welfare to the country.
