The Orthodox Christian Primates of the Serbia and India celebrate their birthdays during the last Quarter of August 2020. His Holiness Irinej – Archbishop of Peć, Metropolitan of Belgrade and Karlovci, and Serbian Patriarch celebrated the 90th birthday on the 28th of August 2020. He was officially positioned as the 45th Patriarch of Serbia on 23rd January 2010 in Belgrade’s St. Michael’s Cathedral. However, he was formally positioned on the throne of the Serbian Patriarch at the Patriarchal Monastery of Peć on the 3rd of October 2010.

His Holiness Baselios Marthoma Paulose II (Catholicos on the Apostolic Throne of St. Thomas, Malankara Metropolitan, Mooppan, and Chief Custodian of the Malankara Nazaranieth and the Primate of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church celebrates 74th birthday on 30th August 2020. Marthoma Paulose II was born on 30 August 1946. He was enthroned as the Catholicos-Moopan and Malankara Metropolitan on 1 November 2010.

It in common remains an interesting coincidence that two primates from the two ancient Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches joyfully celebrate their birthdays on nearby days. Yet another unique opportunity to justly celebrate Pan-Orthodox Unity.
