15/9/14

On Thursday September 11, 2014, His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited St. Aphraim Church in Washington DC. His Holiness was accompanied by His Eminence Mor Clemis Eugene Kaplan, Patriarchal Vicar in Western USA.

His Holiness was received at the entrance of the church by the parish priest Rev. Raban Fady Abdulahad and priests, monks and deacons as well as the choir and scouts.

His Holiness presided over the evening prayers (Ramsho) and spoke about the situation of Christians in the Middle East. He told the parishioners that it was time to show solidarity and love to the suffering Christians in Iraq and Syria. He encouraged all to offer help to those in crisis in the Middle East.  At the end of the service, His Holiness gave his apostolic benediction and all were invited to the  reception in honor of the Patriarch.
