His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II visited the Mayor of Vienna Mr. Michael Haupl at the City Hall of Vienna. His Holiness was accompanied by their Eminences Archbishops Mor Dionysius Issa Gurbuz, Patriarchal Vicar in Switzerland and Austria, and Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Secretary, as well as the priests of the Syriac Orthodox parishes in Vienna.
His Excellency the Mayor of Vienna welcomed His Holiness. His Holiness spoke of the historical role of the city of Vienna in promoting culture and civilized values. He also signed the Golden Book of the city.
