His Holiness Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II received the Head of the Syrian Parliament Dr. Jihad Lahham accompanied by His Excellency Minister of Toursim Mr. Bashr Yaziji and Abdul Mu’ti Al-Mashlab, Head of the Office of Syndical Unions, at the Patriarchate in Bab Touma – Damascus. Their Eminences Mor Athanasius Touma Dakkama, Patriarchal Vicar in the United Kingdom and Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Secretary and Very Rev. Raban Maurice Amsih, Direcotr of Public Relations and Protocol, and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director were also present.
Their Excellencies MP Catherine Deeb, MP Sanaa Abou Zeid, and MP Hamouda Al-Sabbagh participated in the meeting along with Hon. Judge Abdelahad Safar, Gen. Imad Dahi, Mr. Yeshou Ishak, Mr Gabriel Oussi, Mr. Louay Oussi, Mr. Nabil Siryani and Mr. Murhaf Nazha.
His Holiness welcomed his guests and discussed with Dr. Lahham the current situation in Syria. They also exchanged about the Syriac Genocide Sayfo and the recent activities that the patriarchate is hosting for the centennial commemoration of Sayfo.
