Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II Meets Newly Appointed Archdiocesan Council in Damascus

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II met with the newly appointed Archdiocesan Council of the Patriarchal Archdiocese in Damascus at the Patriarchate in Bab Touma – Damascus.

The meeting was attended by His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury, Patriarchal Vicar in the Patriarchal Archdiocese of Damascus and Very Rev. Raban Joseph Bali, Patriarchal Secretary and Media Office Director.

His Holiness opened the meeting with a prayer asking the Lord to bless the members of the new council in their mission to serve the church and the faithful of the Archdiocese. He then spoke to the representatives of the institutions of the Archdiocese encouraging them to offer their ideas and insights and work together for the development of the Archdiocese and the service of the faithful in it.

His Eminence Mor Timotheos Matta Al-Khoury introduced the members of the new Council and explained the vision with which they are planning to work.

An open session followed during which the members of the new council asked questions to which His Holiness answered giving his fatherly guidance and advice.
