Patriarch Bartholomew Meets With President of Estonia

Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew had a meeting with the President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves. His All-Holiness is paying an official visit to Estonia where he also met with the President of the Parliament Ene Ergma, as well as the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Urmas Paet, according to an announcement released in Fener.

The meetings were attended by Archbishop of Tallinn and all Estonia Stefanos as well as Metropolitan of Chalkidona Athanasios, Metropolitan of Boston Methodios, Archimandrite Makarios Griniezakis and Third (Triteuon) Patriarchal Deacon Theodoros. The visit of the Ecumenical Patriarch is being held on the occasion of the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Ecclesiastical Separation status establishment given by the Ecumenical Patriarchate to the Church of Estonia. As part of the celebrations of this anniversary, the Ecumenical Patriarch will meet with the clergy of the Orthodox Church of Estonia and their families, as well as with members of the Orthodox parishes.
