Sofia. Museum of the Christianity could be one of the sections in the National History Museum (NHM) and could be situated on one of the floors in TSUM-Sofia, director of the National History Museum Professor Bozhidar Dimistrov said for Radio FOCUS , commenting on the offer from Russian investors to purchase the building of TZUM-Sofia [an upmarket department store in the centre of Sofia] and transform it into an Orthodox Church Museum.

“The two ideas could be merged because I don’t like the wording Orthodox Church of south Slavs and Russia. We are not south Slavs, we are Bulgarians. There is a country called Bulgaria that had converted to Christianity, it had become its centre for the Slavs and by the way, Bulgaria had Christianized Russia, not the other way round,” Bozhidar Dimistrov said.
