His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II officially inaugurates the First World Conference on Medicine for Suryoye, held at the University of Munich in Germany.

His Holiness greeted all the physicians and people working in the field of medicine who gathered from different countries to participate in this important event.

Dr. Fuat Oduncu welcomed His Holiness and explained the main goals of the conference as well as the World Medical Association of Suryoye (WMAS).

Then Dr. Walter Jauch, Director of the Hospitals at the University of Munich, and Dr. Martin Reincke, Director of the Clinics and Polyclinics at the Conference Venue, welcomed His Holiness at this historical event which they hope that it will grow and bring forth good results of cooperation and collaboration among the Suryoye Physicians and Medical Professionals.

In his opening speech, His Holiness addressed the physicians emphasizing the important role they have in treating people and saving lives. He added that it is important to realize how sacred a doctor’s mission is and how valuable are the talents that God gave to them.

Their Eminences: Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis, Patriarchal Vicar of Germany, Mor Philoxenus Saliba Ozmen, Archbishop of Mardin and Diayrbakir, Mor Theophilos Kuriakose, Patriarchal Vicar in Europe, Mor Julius Hanna Aydin, Director of External Relations in Germany attended the opening ceremony.
