Read – Bishop Dhiloraj Canagasabey of the Anglican Church of Sri Lanka Receives OCP Secretary

Colombo/Sri Lanka: The Secretary of Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE (Pan-Orthodox Society) George Alexander, paid visits to the St Margret’s Anglican Convent and St Paul’s Anglican Church in Colombo. The visit was as part of strengthening the historic ties between the Orthodox Church of Malankara and the Anglican institutions in Sri Lanka and for gathering information for the Metropolitan Alvares Julius Research Project (MARP). At St Margret’s convent, Secretary George was cordially welcomed by Mother Superior Sister Chandirini. He also met former mother superior sister Lucy Agnes. A discussion was made on the relations between St Margret convent and the Orthodox monastic community of Bethany in Kerala. The convent was presented with a collage of historic photos.

Later Secretary George visited St Pauls Anglican Church which is under the Anglican Church of Sri Lanka – Diocese of Colombo. Rev Jayaraj (Parish Vicar) welcomed Secretary and discussed details of the Church. They also took a look at the various corners with the premises of the church which were visited by the Orthodox fathers of Malankara in the early 1930’s.

Arfan Sajid the local Aide to the OCP Secretary in Colombo coordinated all visits in the capital city.

I feel that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this really is amazing weblog. An excellent read. Ill surely be back. 696999
