Statement Issued by the Fathers of the Holy Synod of the Syriac Orthodox Church of Antioch

“We pray for Your Holiness’ ministry from the Chair of St. Peter at Antioch, and for your health and longevity to serve the Lord and His people with apostolic zeal. May we also be blessed! May your prayers be a fortress for us!” – Rt. Rev. Chorbishop Dr Kyriakose Thottupuram of Chicago (Chancellor of Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE).

Global: We the members of the Secretariat of the Orthodox Cognate PAGE (Pan-Orthodox NGO) have been observing the recent challenges encountered by the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate. We all have differences in opinion. However, none of these opinions should threaten the unity of the Orthodox Church. May God strengthen His Holiness and the Holy Synod to overcome these challenges.

We support His Holiness Ignatius Aphrem II – Patriarch on the Apostolic Thorn of St. Peter in Antioch and All East and the Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate. His Holiness the Patriarch Ignatius Aphrem II is a great leader, a blessed Prelate in the vineyard of Christ and a bright star in the Eastern Horizon.

MANY YEARS TO MORAN MOR IGNATIUS APREM THRAYONO PATRIARCH D’KURSYO SHLIHOYO D’ANTHIOKYA D’SURYOYE!!!

    Chers amis. Aloho m’barekh.

    Dear friends. Aloho m’barekh.
As soon as I learned of the difficulties that have arisen for the Church of Antioch, I invited the clergy and the faithful of our local Syro-Orthodox Church in France and Cameroon to pray for the Head of the Church, The Patriarchal Church and the unity of the faithful of the whole Church of Antioch.
I subscribe to the position of our friends of the OCP.
Whatever the differences of opinion, none should be publicly disclosed. There are always canonical remedies through the synodal apparatus to make our grievances recall respectfully to the Authority.
One thing is certain, we must, if we wish to amass with Christ, an entire loyalty to the chiefs whom Providence gives us; If not, we disperse with the opponent, the divisor …
Let us pray for the unanimity of the Testimony around our Chiefs and the reconciliation of all!
Let us pray, offer and be silent we will get everything … I appeal to our faithful to calm, silence and contemplative and loving prayer so that from this trial, Church of Antioch (Mother of all Syriac Churches around the world) knowing that good does not make noise and noise does not do well …
Let us pray for the unanimity of the Testimony around our Chiefs and the reconciliation of all!
“The future is in peace and there is no future without peace,” said the Patriarch of Antioch in substance, expressing himself on the situation of the churches in India.
Let us think of all those enemies who, from outside, rely on our divisions to spread terror or to hinder freedom of conscience and worship … Let these divisions cease that bring a counter-testimony that despairs the faithful of Christ who Honor us with their confidence!
Your respectfully and fraternally in Our Lord.
    + Mor Philpose, metropolitan.
