Newly Built Church of Aghavnatun Consecrated

On 21 October, 2012 in the village of Aghvanatun in the Armavir region, the consecration of the newly built St. Anna Church was offered by His Grace Bishop Sion Adamian, Primate of the Armavir Diocese.  Tigran Sargsian, RA Deputy Prime Minister; Ashot Ghahramanian, Governor of Armavir; Vahan Avagian of Moscow, Benefactor of the Church; and other high-ranking officials, RA Parliament Deputies, Ashot Grigoryan; Community Principal, Mayors of neighboring communities, and thousands of community members, members of youth union of the Diocese and other pilgrims were in attendance.

On the previous day; 20 October, the Opening of the Doors service was offered by Bishop Sion, and the 12 columns of the Church were consecrated with Holy Chrism.

On 21 October 2012, His Grace blessed the Holy Table and Holy Altar columns with Holy Chrism and in the name of the four Evangelists the baptismal font as well.

By the Pontifical Encyclical of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; philanthropist Mr. Avagyan was awarded the highest medal in the Armenian Apostolic Church, the order of “St. Gregory the Illuminator”.

Following the consecration service the guests attended a reception and banquet, which was organized for them in honor of the occasion.
