New Publications – The Armenian Church and Medieval Armenian Interpretations of Christ’s Miracles and Healings

With the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, the Publishing Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has published two books: “The Armenian Church” and “Medieval Armenian Interpretations of Christ’s Miracles and Healings” both originally written by Yervand Ter-Minasyan, a prominent specialist in Armenian Studies, licentiate in theology, Doctor of Philosophy and Pedagogy, professor, and honored contributor to the field of science. The educational book “The Armenian Church” presents the history of the Armenian Church from the period of the apostolic era until 1970s, by means of an accordant combination of scientific and religious approaches. The work was prepared for publication by His Grace Bishop Gevorg Saroyan, Rector of Religious Educational Institutions of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and Dean of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary. It is educational textbook intended for students and a wide range of readers interested in the history of the Armenian Church. “The Armenian Church” by Yervand Ter- Minasyan was published by the sponsorship of the Sarkis Gabrielian Fund in honor of the 140th anniversary of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary.

The work “Medieval Armenian Interpretations of Christ’s Miracles and Healings” includes information from both handwritten and printed sources. The manuscript includes the interpretations of the healings and miracles according to the order of the Gospels as well as the chronologically. This work of the interpretations of the Lord’s miracles is an opportunity to elucidate the conventional and the transitional, as well as the manifestations of the individual independent layers of each author in the explanatory literary tradition. The book was compiled by Ms. Naira Tamamyan and edited by Mr. Gevorg Ter- Vardanyan. It is intended for religious educational institutions, students of University theological faculties and a wide range of readers. The “Medieval Armenian Interpretations of Christ’s Miracles and Healings” was published by the sponsorship of Mr. Gabriel Chemperchyan, benefactor of the Mother See.
