New Publication – Gevorg IV and His Legacy (1812-1882)

With the blessings of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; the Publishing Department of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has published the work “Gevorg IV and His Legacy (1812-1882)” by Bishop Vahram Mankuni, which was originally published during the period of 1933 to 1937 in several editions of Vem Magazine, in Paris.
The book is dedicated to one of the most prominent figures of the Armenian Church, Catholicos Gevorg IV of Constantinople (1866-1882). Bishop Vahram, who was knowledgeable of the events during that time, and was very often a direct participant, not only presents an accurate biography of Catholicos George IV, but also an authentic account of the Armenian Church throughout that period.
This publication, dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the founding of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary was annotated by Associate Professor Petros H. Hovannisian, PhD, a lecturer at the Gevorkian Seminary.
The book was published through the sponsorship of the Sarkis Gabrellian Fund.
