Addis Ababa: The Commemorative monument of Abune Petros, martyr patriot and one of the first Bishops of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church have been reinstated to its original position in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia.  The event was held on 7th February 2016.

The event was attended by Ethiopian Orthodox Prelates, government official’s clergies, Sunday school students, large number of Orthodox faithful and Addis Ababa city dwellers. Martyr and patriot Abune Petrous was killed by Italian fighters during the five-year Ethio-Italian war.  The monument was removed from its original place two years ago as part of the railway extension.
