Metropolitan Mar Seraphim says Christ loves you, Church needs you at Yovela 2014

BENGALURU, India: Fresh from the successful conduct of Yovela 2014 (Hebrew meaning for Rejoice), a youth camp for Bengaluru Diocese Youth Movement (MGOCYM) from November 14-16, the youngsters are all gearing up towards the next major Christmas carol event, Zamar.

Diocese Metropolitan HG Dr Abraham Mar Seraphim is full of enthusiasm post-Yovela. The Metropolitan in his candid posting on Facebook adds: “The youth camp touched and changed the life styles of youngsters. It was really a spiritual experience at Yovela. I thank God for providing another opportunity to be with the young ones from our Diocese. Christ loves you, Church needs you and I will be with you as your spiritual father. I pray to God to continue to help all of us to focus our lives on God and His Kingdom.”

For the first time Yovela shifted to the sprawling Ecumenical Christian Centre (ECC) campus at Whitefield from hill station of Nandi Hills.

Fr Philip Kuruvilla, Fr Liju Mathew, Dr Suja John Issac were the main speakers who kept the youngsters engaged with their though-provoking sessions at the three-day conference.

MGOCYM Co-ordinator, Aaron Matthew says Yovela 2014 turned to be a “blessed experience. I am happy our families and the church are gifted with talented young people. I pray that these talents are utilised for the betterment of the world and to accomplish the mission which the Lord Jesus entrusted us.”

Music Ministry, the Diocese new unit of the Diocese, came out thumbs up and made the camp special.

Mar Seraphim has further requested the successful conduct and prayers of ‘Zamar 2014,’ the carol singing contest, which will be the final event for the year. Zamar is slated for December 6 from 1.30 pm at Dharmaram Vidyakshetram, Hosur Road, Bengaluru.
