BENGALURU — A day of fun and frolic amidst intense competition for Orthodox youth came to an end on July 22, Sunday. In the end, Santhome Youth from St Thomas, Bangalore East Orthodox Church, emerged winners at the second edition of Bengaluru Diocese Talent Fest 2012 titled “Jenuesse” at the St Gregorios Cathedral, Hosur Road, Bengaluru.

The hugely successful event saw about 250 youngsters from various Indian (Malankara) Orthodox churches in Bengaluru Diocese along with Mysore Orthodox church taking part as outstation participants .
An overjoyed HG Dr Abraham Mar Seraphim, Metropolitan, Bengaluru Diocese says: “I have no words to express my joy. I thank God for the Orthodox youth of Bangalore and their talents. It is always good to see the youth together and we had about 250 participants. ‘Jenuesse’ (French word for Youth) was well organised and I congratulate the organising team. Let God’s name be glorified. Keeping you all in my prayers.”

A special feature of this year was the participation of St Gregorios Church from Mysore, which put up a spirited performance, emerging winners in events like Collage and Infamous Pairs.

The late Kunjamma Daniel Ever Rolling Trophy for Quiz went to St George Orthodox Church, Indiranagar, which came first, while Mar Gregorios were the runners up.
In 2011, the Trophy had gone to Cathedral Church which had also emerged the overall winners.

Prize winning performance skit came from Mar Gregorious Orthodox MGOCYM, Hebbal, on the theme “Remember your creator in the days of your youth,”.

Rev Dr Cherian Thomas, ECC (Ecumenical Christian Centre), Director, as the guest of honour, delivered the valedictory address. The function was also presided over by Dr Abraham Mar Seraphim and Rev Fr Cyril Varghese, new Student Chaplain, Bengaluru City. The dignitaries gave away prizes to the winners.
