Metropolitan Constantine Discharged from Hospital

UPDATE ON METROPOLITAN CONSTANTINE’S HEALTH

GOD HAS BLESSED US!

We are very happy to report to the clergy and faithful of our Holy Ukrainian Orthodox Church – and to all our friends – that His Beatitude Metropolitan Constantine has been discharged from hospital and is now continuing his rapid recovery following a month of intensive treatment. The Metropolitan was treated in intensive care and then intermediate care for three weeks following his initial surgery because of pulmonary problems that struck him. By the Grace of God, he left hospital on Monday morning in good spirits and able to communicate his deep gratitude to God for the healing talents gifted to the physicians, nurses and all other hospital staff who cared for him so lovingly.

The Metropolitan has asked us to express his most sincere gratitude to all the faithful of our Church and beyond for the powerful prayers, which brought him back into the Light after a long period of darkness during his illness. He is most appreciative of the nearly 200 cards brought to him in a basket from the participants of the recent Ukrainian Orthodox League Convention, which was held at Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Youngstown, OH. The personal messages contained in each card and in many others he received will sustain him during the continued treatment he will receive at home over the next several weeks.

Wednesday, 29 July is Metropolitan Constantine’s BIRTHDAY! The members and staff of the Consistory, the Metropolitan Council, the Jr. and Sr. Ukrainian Orthodox Leagues, the United Ukrainian Orthodox Sisterhoods, St. Andrew Society, the Seminary and seminarians, our faithful and clergy ALL extend the most sincere of greetings to our beloved Metropolitan on his special day, which he always loves to celebrate. This year’s celebration is even more special than usual, now that he can do it at home!
