Message of HH Karekin II on First Armenian Republic Day

MESSAGE OF HIS HOLINESS KAREKIN II,
SUPREME PATRIARCH AND CATHOLICOS OF ALL ARMENIANS,
ON THE FIRST ARMENIAN REPUBLIC DAY

From the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, we are extending our blessings and congratulations to our people on the occasion of the First Armenian Republic Day.

Following the difficult days of the Genocide, in a part of our country, our valiant people waged a life-and-death struggle, and with costly sacrifices, crowned the victorious battles of May with the establishment of the Republic of Armenia.  With the restoration of Armenian statehood, our forefather’s centuries-old dream was realized, our nation’s soul was filled with hope and our national life took a new breath.

With the sanctity of May 28, let us renew our covenant of loyalty to the Homeland, overcome all difficulties with our noble causes with love and care for each other.

We pray that God keep our statehood and Homeland strong under His Holy Right Hand, supporting the Armenian nation dispersed throughout the world and granting success to all our efforts for the love of the Homeland.
