Malankara- Kerala: Chemmanam Chacko, award-winning satirical poet and social worker from Kerala entered eternal rest at the age of 92. Chacko is an Orthodox Christian (Malankara Orthodox Church) hailing from the state of Kerala. His father was an Orthodox priest.

He is best remembered for his epic contributions in the growth and development of Malayalam satirical poetry. He has received lifetime achievement award for literature from the Kerala Sahitya Akademi and Mahakavi Pandalam Keralavarma Award for Poetry as well.

The burial will be held at St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, Mannukunnel in Kerala.
