Ethiopian Orthodox Church Establish a Committee to Support Victims in the Somali Region

Addis Ababa – Ethiopia: The Ethiopian Orthodox Church has established a committee to help it’s faithful as well as to and rebuild destroyed churches in Ethiopia’s Somali region.
The Report
The committee includes priests, and professionals like engineers, architects. The committee is divided into three sections to provide basic needs, to permanently rehabilitate victims and to rebuild churches. The committee is headed by His Grace Abune Matheos – Archbishop of the Ethiopian Somali Diocese
The Ethiopian Church sent a mission group under the leadership of Abune Dioskoros (who is the Director of General Assembly of EOTC) to Jigjiga (last Saturday) and initiated a discussion with EOTC priests and faithful in the region. The supply of aide began last week itself. The Ethiopian Airline participates in the mission by voluntary loading 300kg food (per a day) and thereby supplying the same to affected communities.
The Church has requested faithful and volunteers to help the service by funds transfer to the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia Account number 1000254922898, AratKillo branch.
