Memorandum of Understanding Signed at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin for the Improvement of Children’s Education, Spiritual- Cultural and Social Life

On June 23, in the Alex and Marie Manoogian Treasury House Museum of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; a signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding between the Armenian Apostolic Church; The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF); and the “MGA Water” company was convened.
The purpose of the Memorandum of Understanding is to promote the defense of children’s rights, develop and undertake projects directed towards the improvement of their social status; initiate scientific and publishing projects for the cultural, religious and moral upbringing of children; help the youth in their profession choices; and increase the quality of vocational education.
Following the opening prayer, Rev. Fr. Paruyr Avetisyan, Director of Intra Church Relations Department of the Mother See, gave his remarks.
Rev. Fr. Vardan Navasardyan, Director of Christian Education Center of the Mother See; Ms. Henriette Ahrens, UNICEF Representative in Armenia; and Mr. Gagik Martirosyan, Director of “MGA Water” company, UNICEF National Ambassador for Armenia; signed the Memorandum of Understanding. They congratulated those present under the blessings of the Catholicos of All Armenians on the occasion of the partnership, stating their confidence that it would be a new impetus for undertaking and realizing various projects targeted to the welfare of children in Armenia.
