Liturgy in Surb Khach church to be held as planned, Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople Says

Turkish press, misinterpreting the name of Holy See of Echmiadzin, reported “the Patriarchate of Armenian Apostolic Church refuses to participate in the liturgy, as the installation of the cross on the dome of the church had been put off. Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople refuted the misleading information, stating the liturgy in Surb Khach Church in Van will take place without any changes on September 19.

At the meeting of Religious Council of Patriarchate of Armenian Apostolic church, led by Deputy Patriarchate, Archbishop Aram Ateshyan discussed the problems related to the religious service in Surb Khach and decided to conduct the liturgy on September 19, at 11 a.m., Turkish Beyazgazete reports referring to the press service of patriarchate.
