Minsk-Belarus: Adi Patricia Roche, the notable Irish anti-nuclear advocate has been decorated with the order of the St Kirill Turovskiy, the highest award of the Belarusian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.

The award was virtually bestowed upon Roche by Metropolitan Veniamin, of Minsk and Zaslavl, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, and the head of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.

Roche was awarded honoured for her contribution to Belarussian society for the past twenty-five years. She is the Chief Executive of Chernobyl Children International (CCI), which was founded in 1991. CCI provides aid to the children of Belarus, Western Russia and Ukraine who are victims of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
