Malankara-Kerala-India: Fr. Dr Abraham Oommen, the renowned Orthodox Christian theologian, author and priest of the Indian Orthodox Malankara Church has entered eternal rest on the 27th of August 2021. He was undergoing treatment for various health problems at St Gregorious Hospital, Parumala. He was serving as the Manager of Stephanos Mar Theodosius Mission Centre, Pathamuttom, Kerala.

Brief Bio
Fr Abraham was born in the Kottayam district in Kerala. Having obtained the degrees of Master of Theology (New Testament), Master of Arts (English), and Ph. D. (English), Fr Abraham taught English Language and Literature as well as The New Testament. Fr. Abraham has additionally served as the Executive Secretary, National Council of Churches in India. He has authored seven books and a considerable number of articles on diverse topics. A close aide to the late Metropolitan Stephanos Theodosius, Fr Abraham has also served as the Secretary of the Culcutta Dioscese of the Malankara Church.

Amazing Grace, A Christian Outlook on Yoga, Paths to Unity, Ecumenical Praxis, The Crown and the Gift, Issues in Hindu Christian Relations, The Milestones, Media for Society are some of the books authored by the late Fr Abraham.

His latest Book ‘Glory Wrapped in Shame‘ was released worldwide by OCP Publications in 2020.
