Holy Qurobo & Ordination of Deacons – St. Mary Church – Sao Paolo

Syriac Orthodox Patriarchate – 7/11/16

His Holiness Patriarch Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurobo at St. Mary Church in Sao Paolo and ordained 6 new readers (Qoruye) and 7 new subdeacons (Aphodiaqne).

Their Eminences Mor Titus Boulos Touza, Syriac Orthodox Apostolic Nuncio in Brazil, and Mor Selwanos Boutros Al-Nehmeh, Archbishop of Homs, Hama and Environs, assisted His Holiness in the Holy Qurobo and the ordination.

In his sermon, His Holiness spoke about the current situation in the Middle East and prayed for the Christians who are persecuted in their homeland because of their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. He also prayed for peace in Syria and the Middle East and for the quick recovery of Very Rev. Raban Boutros Kassis, Patriarchal Delegate in the Archdiocese of Aleppo and Environs as well as for the safe return of their Eminences the Archbishops of Aleppo Mor Gregorius Youhanna Ibrahim and Boulos Yaziji.
