His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia chairs a regular session of the Supreme Church Council

On 17 June 2014, the Supreme Church Council of the Russian Orthodox Church met for a regular session at the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour in Moscow under the chairmanship of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, who declared the session open and addressed the participants with an opening speech in which he presented the Russian Orthodox Church’s position on Ukraine.

The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church noted the importance of the draft Regulation on the church licensing and accreditation of the educational institutions on the programs of catechetical, missionary, youth and social activities.

The agenda of the current session of the Supreme Church Council includes the following:

-Enforcement of judgments of the Supreme Church Council of the Russian Orthodox Church and of the Bishops’ Council;

Approval of a draft Regulation on the Cossack military chaplains;

-Approval of a draft Regulation on the church licensing and accreditation of the educational institutions on the programs of catechetical, missionary, youth and social activities.
