His Holiness Patriarch Kirill conducts All-Night Vigil at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
On the eve of commemoration of the Holy and Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir His Holiness Patriarch Kirill conducted All-Night Vigil at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra
Concelebrating with His Holiness the Patriarch were His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir of Kyiv and All Ukraine, members of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church, synaxis of Archpastors and clergy.
The liturgical service lasted about three hours, and the reliquary with a particle of relics of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir was on the altar all that time.
The All-Night Vigil was performed in the square on the special stage, because lots of people were expected to come and it was clear beforehand that the great cathedral of Dormition won’t contain all the believers.
Besides, the broadcast on a huge display was organized. Several Ukrainian TV-channels performed TV-broadcast of the service (in particular, TV-channel INTER made live standups in the news). The Radio-audience of Radio-station Era and the Internet-users also had a chance to witness the festive event in the Kyiv-Caves Monastery.
