HIS BEATITUDE VISITS THE ALEXANDRIAN LIBRARY

On 30th October 2013, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa went to the Library of Alexandria in order to receive in a function of particular honour, the second lot of restored and digitalized coded manuscripts, which are from the treasures of the Patriarchal library. During the function His Beatitude had the opportunity of meeting the specialist staff of the Manuscripts Centre of the Alexandrian Library and to be fully briefed on the progress of the work and the challenges which the restoration procedure of the results of time on manuscripts has.
He congratulated the staff on their excellent professionalism and asked them all to quicken their efforts. Present at the function were the Honourary Consul General of Greece in Alexandria Mr. Christos Kapodistrias and the Honourable Chairman of the Hellenic Community of Alexandria Mr. Ioannis Siokas.
