His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, a Citizen of Honour of Turda city

On 18 September 2011, the Sunday after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church consecrated the church of the “Descend of the Holy Spirit” in Turda Bai city, together with His Eminence Andrei, Metropolitan of Alba, Crisana and Maramures and His Grace Vasile Somesanul, Assistant Bishop to the Archdiocese of Vad, Feleac and Cluj and a group of priests and deacons.

After the celebration of the Divine Liturgy, the Patriarch of Romania awarded diplomas to some of the persons who contributed to the construction of the place of worship. Further on, the mayor of the city, Tudor Stefanie, awarded His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, on behalf of the Local Council of Turda city, the title of Citizen of Honour of Turda city, thanking him for the visit to Transylvania and reminding some of the achievements of His Beatitude.

The Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church thanked the mayor for the diploma received, as well as the hierarchs, priests and faithful present at this great event in the life of Turda city.

The faithful present in large number at the church received icons of the dedication day of the newly consecrated church offered on behalf of the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
