Head of Georgian Orthodox Church sent address to IV Religious Congress

31/5/2012

Catholicos Patriarch of all Georgia Ilia II has sent an address to the IV Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which is taking place these days in Astana.

“Peace at home, peace around the world is a great value, the grace of God. And we need to strive towards this,” Ilia II said in his message that was read before the Congress by Archbishop Andrei (Gvazava) of Samtavisi and Gori (Georgian Orthodox Church).

“Without justice there is no peace,” head of the Georgian Orthodox Church noted. “We (the Georgians – Agency) are peace-loving people, and always seek only to defend ourselves.”

“Kazakhstan’s initiative to develop and strengthen inter-religious dialogue is constructive and effective,” the message reads.
