The Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in Thebarto, Adelaide, is fully functional again after all work on noise abatement has been completed with the financial support of the Australian government.

The church had to close down for four months (May 17 to October 2) because the renovations were necessary for the church and the community hall due to their location affected by the Adelaide airport noises.

The community of St. George wanted to have the renovation project completed as quickly as possible. Therefore, the church congregated for these four months in the community hall.

Father Diogenis Patsouris and the community of St George Orthodox Church thanked all “parishioners and visitors to the church and college for their support, understanding and patience and cooperation during the renovation time”.
