On Sunday, May 24, in Alexandria took place the graduation ceremony of St. Athanasios Patriarchal School. Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria attended the ceremony and handed out the diplomas to the graduates.

His Beatitude praised the importance of training indigenous staff for the missionary work of St. Mark’s Church throughout the African continent.

He invited the graduates to continue their ministry and testimony for Christ all over Africa, following the missionary life of the Apostles, and stressed that the Church needs laborers of the Gospel, for the harvest is plentiful. He affirmed that the Patriarchate will closely monitor their progress in their home countries’ church life and that he will fatherly assist them in their needs. Finally, he asked them to become ambassadors and messengers of the love they experienced during their two-year studies at the Patriarchate headquarters
