Fr Dr K M George Inaugurates Metropolitan Alvarez Julius Research Project (MARP)

India/Kerala/Kottayam: One of the most awaited projects of Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE Society; MARP was inaugurated by the Fr Dr K M George (former Principal of the Orthodox Theological College and leading Orthodox theologian) at Kottayam on 28^th May 2013. Various personalities attended the event.

Mr Varghrese John Thottapuzha (OCP Associate and an expert in Oriental Orthodoxy) delivered the welcome speech and introduced the project.

Presidential address was given by Dr M Kuriena Thomas (renowned Indian Orthodox Historian) and the project was blessed and inaugurated by Fr Dr K M George.

Felicitations were made by Mr Joice Thottakkadu (Managing Editor- Marthoman TV), Binu M. Issac (Managing Committee Member – IMOC). Mr Prasad Abraham (Legal adviser- OCP, Malankara Association member and editorial board member of the Orthodox Christian Youth Movement magazine) Mr Vipin Varghese (Marthoma TV) made their presence for the occasion. Mr Ajesh Philip (Chief Project Coordinator – MARP) delivered the vote of thanks.

MARP (Metropolitan Alvares Julius Research Project) aims to promote research and publish known and unknown aspects of Metropolitan Julius, his life and mission. It will also feature history, mission, life, and details of personalities like St Gregory of Parumala, Archbishop Rene Villate, famous Indian Orthodox and Syriac Orthodox Church Fathers, laymen who were directly and indirectly connected to Metropolitan Alvares.
